Medical Careers: Behind the Scenes

At the recent 4H & Youth Conference, participants had a chance to learn about careers in health care. Students from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health gave presentations on education for careers in health care, how the body works, physcial examination skills, suturing, and a final tour of MedFlight, UW Hospital's helicopter. The turnout was fantastic and the reviews were great; we look forward to running the same workshop for next year's conference. The program is sponsored by both the UWSMPH Department of Family Medicine and the Wisconsin Medical Society.
